Felicia Day and The
\nGuild <\/i>are back, along with costar Wil Wheaton, for a brand-new story
\nspotlighting Fawkes, the dashing, debonair, and douchey leader of the evil
\nguild Axis of Anarchy! His relationship with Codex threatened to tear the
\nKnights of Good apart until he was thrown off a balcony for his treatment of
\nher. Set after season 4 of the show, this issue reveals how Fawkes deals with
\nhis split from Codex and navigates the aggressive personalities of the Axis,
\nand follows his journey to his surprising state when he returns in season 5!<\/div>\n

The Good<\/u>\u00a0:<\/div>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Felicia
\nDay has an incredible talent for comedy and it continues with Fawkes<\/a>. In its entirety, this book keeps the same hilarity as the
\nshow. Some of the jokes even caused me to chuckle out loud. As with the show,
\nmost of the comedy is on the intelligent side. Fawkes\u2019 quotes are well timed.<\/div>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In its
\nown separate form, the sarcasm is great for the Axis of Evil. Fawkes is a total
\ndouche. Again, keeping with the theme of the show. You just love to hate him.<\/div>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And
\nVenom, my favorite character from the Axis, is finally given more play. It was
\ngood to see her and realize that she is just that mean to her own friends as
\nshe is to the Knights of Good. Her description of Fawkes having a \u201csad little
\nboner\u201d was so in tune with her character.<\/div>\n

The Bad<\/u>\u00a0:<\/div>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The
\nstory should\u2019ve been released a year ago. In this one shot, the story takes
\nplace between the 4th<\/sup> and 5th<\/sup> season. With season 6 in
\ndevelopment, it took me a minute to remember what all happened and when to make
\nthis story fit. With such a beautifully crafted story and series, I didn\u2019t
\nreally expect to an \u201coh yeah, that\u2019s what happened\u201d moment.<\/div>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Some of
\nthe character development. It has been over a year since we\u2019ve seen the Axis
\nand half of the characters only really have face time. There were a few times
\nin the story where I wondered if that character would really say that or act in
\na certain way. Honestly, I\u2019m a huge fan of the show, but there was 1 character
\nI didn\u2019t even identify until the very end. It didn\u2019t change the story any but
\nmost of the Axis is \u201cjust there to be hated\u201d, you don\u2019t really know more than a
\ncouple of them.<\/div>\n

Summary<\/u>\u00a0:<\/div>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Being a
\nhuge fan, I tried to read this as just a book. But you can\u2019t. From all the
\npeople I\u2019ve met that are fans of The Guild, they are big fans. From the 1st<\/sup>
\npanel, seeing Fawkes, you remember the hatred you\u2019re supposed to have for him.
\nThis book has a strong portrayal of the show\u2019s main villains.\u00a0 You get to see how they really are compared
\nto their avatars. And it\u2019s pretty much the same. You dislike them but that is
\nthe entertaining part. I like that they continue to be unlikable.<\/div>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This
\nbook fits right into the continuity of the series. Nothing is taken away or
\nchanged, just further explained. Fans of the show will understand the books
\nstyle of humor and the characters do actually look like themselves.<\/div>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The
\nonly main negative would be for anyone who has not seen the show. They could
\nprobably enjoy the book, but they would miss so many quirks and Easter eggs
\nfrom the show. As for me, I\u2019m still laughing as I write this.<\/div>\n
